The FBI has committed to do testing that would let Virginians know if the DNA of Jesse Leroy Matthew, Jr. was in a car that missing teenager Alexis Murphy was driving when she vanished in the summer of 2013. Nelson County Commonwealth’s Attorney Anthony Martin contends that Randy Taylor is guilty of murdering Murphy, but he did ask for DNA testing. Martin has asked the FBI to do prompt and thorough DNA testing.

Martin notes the FBI’s highest priority is the human remains discovered in Albemarle County that might be Hannah Graham. There is no deadline for completing DNA testing that relates to the Alexis Murphy case. There was unidentified DNA in a white 2003 Nissan Maxima that was discovered outside the Carmike 6 Theater in Albemarle County three days after Alexis vanished.
