Elderly man killed in Stanardsville car vs. pedestrian crash

Virginia State Police is investigating a pedestrian fatality in Greene County. The crash occurred Feb. 9, 2023 at 7:05 a.m. on Route 33, east of Maple Creek Rd.

A 2022 Subaru Impreza was traveling east on Route 33 when it ran off the right side of the road and struck a man walking alongside the eastbound lanes of Route 33.

The pedestrian, Albert J. Scott, 72, of Stanardsville, Va., died at the scene.

The driver of the Subaru, Dylan W. Collier, 26, of Stanardsville, Va., was not injured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation, with charges pending.
