Price Hike This Fall For City School Lunches

The city schools will increase their meal prices during the next academic year. A lunch for a student who goes to Burnley-Moran (pictured)  or the other five elementary schools, Walker Upper Elementary, or Buford Middle School will pay $2.25 for each meal. For those who go to Charlottesville High School, the price tag for lunch will be $2.50. Breakfasts will cost $1.50 at all of the city schools. A federal program that provides free meals to kids from low-income families is raising its reimbursement rate. That’s forcing the city schools to increase the prices for students who pay for their meals.
