Charlottesville man killed in car v. motorcycle crash

Virginia State Police Trooper J.C. Workman is investigating a two-vehicle crash in Fluvanna County. The crash occurred Sept. 14, 2020 at 8:40 p.m. on Route 250, less than a mile east of Diamond Road.

A 2000 Honda CBR 600 motorcycle was traveling west on Route 250. As it was attempting to pass a westbound vehicle, it struck head-on an eastbound 2013 Kia Optima. The crash occurred in a no-passing zone.

The motorcyclist, Corey L. Tinder, 22, of Charlottesville, Va., died at the scene. He was wearing a helmet.

The driver of the Kia, a 45-year-old woman from Arvonia, Va., was not injured in the crash. She was wearing a seat belt.
