Buckingham supervisor as private citizen to file suit against county electoral board

BUCKINGHAM (WINA) – A lawsuit will be filed Friday morning in Buckingham County Circuit Court. Supervisor Jordan Miles announced at the end of this week’s board of supervisors’ meeting that he… as a private citizen, and not a supervisor… will file the suit.

The Buckingham electoral board has garnered national news after the entire elections staff quit in the past couple of months claiming they were being threatened by 2020 election deniers who have taken over the majority of the electoral board. Miles says the idea is to slow some of this activity down, right now.

County residents have been complaining to the electoral board, and flooded the supervisors’ meeting public comment period asking something be done to reverse course. The day after, the electoral board in an emergency closed session fired interim registrar Luiz Guitierrez after just a month on the job.
