Bear Creates Frenzy In Danville

A sideshow in downtown Danville. A black bear attracted a lot of second-takes Thursday as it strolled along city streets. Danville police say onlookers with cameras and cellphones chased the bear until it climbed a tree. A game warden used a tranquilizer gun and the bear was taken out of Danville. Many Charlottesville residents remember the time several years ago when a black bear strolled along part of the Downtown Mall.
