On April 21, 2021 the Greene County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) unit made an arrest.

On April 8, 2021 Greene County Sheriff’s Office along with the Greene County Department of Social Services received an allegation of a juvenile in need of services. Through the course of investigating the allegations an individual was arrested and charged with the following offense:

David Lee Collbran, age 33 of Barboursville (Orange County)
18.2-67.3 Aggravated Sexual Battery of a Juvenile

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office ICAC unit which is part of the Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force urges parents to be involved in what their children are doing on the computer and know what sites they are visiting. Parents need to ensure that children know about internet safety and the dangers of online predators. In addition, parents are urged not to allow children to have electronic devices in their rooms at nighttime.
