35th annual Virginia Film Festival opens at the Paramount tonight

CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – Tonight is the opening of the 35th annual Virginia Film Festival with the Opening Night film at the Paramount “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery”.  Festival Director Jody Kielbasa says tickets for tonight’s screening are sold out, as is the post-screening gala at The Jefferson.

How, he says the festival Thursday hits the ground running with the film “Devotion” at 7:30 at the Paramount Theater with star Jonathan Majors on-hand for the festival’s “Breakthrough Star Award”. He plays the U.S. Navy’s first black aviator in this film during the Korean War.

Judith Ivy will be on-hand at the Paramount for the 5pm Saturday screening of “Women Talking”… in which she plays one of the women in a tight-knit, isolated Mennonite community discussing how to move forward from sexual abuse.
