(CHARLOTTESVILLE – WINA) The UVA football program’s more than a decade and a half of losses to Virginia Tech ended Friday afternooon at Scott Stadium. Wahoo quarterback Bryce Perkins rushed for two first-quarter touchdown runs, and Brian Delaney kicked a go-ahead field goal late in the fourth quarter. The UVA Virginia defense also closed the deal on the Cavaliers’ first ACC Coastal Division championship.
It was part of a dynamic fourth quarter of a 39-30 Cavalier victory over the visitors from Blacksburg Saturday at Scott Stadium. Wahoo loyalists had waited 15 long years to celebrate a win over the Hokies and rushed Scott Stadium as their team improved to 9-3 on the season.
UVA has earned its their first trip to the ACC Championship game. The ‘Hoos will face No. 3 Clemson on December 7th in Charlotte.
