26th Annual Emily Couric Leadership Forum Luncheon

April 27, 2026 - 12:00 am at Omni Charlottesville Hotel
    212 Ridge McIntire Rd

An Olympic champion is coming home to Central Virginia… and you’re invited to be part of an afternoon that celebrates leadership, achievement, and the future of our community.

The 26th Annual Emily Couric Leadership Forum Luncheon takes place Monday, April 27th, featuring UVA legend and Olympic gold medalist Gretchen Walsh as this year’s Women’s Leadership Award recipient and keynote speaker.

Walsh, one of the most accomplished swimmers of her generation and a breakout star of the Paris Olympics, will share her journey from NCAA dominance at the University of Virginia to the world stage, offering inspiration for anyone chasing big goals.

But this event is about more than one champion. Since 2001, the Forum has awarded more than 2.2 million dollars in scholarships to 206 young women leaders in Charlottesville and Albemarle County. Each local high school nominates an outstanding senior who demonstrates leadership and service, and eleven of those young women receive college scholarships during the luncheon.

The Forum honors the legacy of Virginia State Senator Emily Couric by encouraging women to step into leadership roles in government, public service, and their communities.

Tickets for the luncheon go on sale March 23rd, and organizers are also seeking sponsors at a variety of support levels, from Friend to Presenting Sponsor. Sponsorship opportunities include table seating and recognition as part of the live event.

If you or your business would like to support these inspiring young women, you can reserve a table through the Emily Couric Leadership Forum. Reservations are honored as received, and details on sponsorships and attendance are available now.
