    Louisa County Rabies Clinic

    April 12, 2026 - 11:00 am - 3:00 pm at Louisa County Fairgrounds
    208 Fredericksburg Ave

The Louisa County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with Louisa Veterinary Service and Louisa CART, is bringing back their annual Spring Rabies Clinic—and it’s open to everyone, not just Louisa County residents.

It all happens Sunday, April 12th, 2026, at the Louisa County Fairgrounds, that’s 208 Fredericksburg Avenue in Louisa—and yes, they’re doing the super convenient drive-through format again this year.

    Here’s the timeline:
From 11 AM to noon, it’s reserved for pre-registered pets only… and then from noon to 3 PM, it opens up to the general public.

CLICK HERE TO REGISTER YOUR PETS

Vaccines are just 15 dollars per animal, but listen closely—it is cash only, and they do require exact cash. No cards, no checks.

Now, to keep things moving smoothly and safely:
You’ll enter from Fredericksburg Avenue, stay in your vehicle the entire time unless asked otherwise, and then exit out onto Church Avenue.

Dogs need to be on a leash, cats need to be in a carrier, and Animal Control will come right to you with your rabies tag and certificate as you move through the line.

And this isn’t just a “nice-to-have” … rabies vaccinations are required by state law, and for good reason. Rabies is a 100 percent fatal virus if left untreated, and early treatment is critical within the first 72 hours. So, this is about protecting your pets, your family, and the entire community.

Pre-registration is strongly encouraged to help them plan vaccine supply, and it runs through April 6th—but they will have additional doses available the day of the event while supplies last.

So, load up your pups, your cats, maybe that one pet who thinks they run the house… and make plans for the Spring Rabies Clinic on April 12th in Louisa.
