Sooner or later, depression shows up in all our lives. To remind us of the importance of asking for help, Sentara and the Martha Jefferson Hospital Foundation have teamed up with the Virginia Stage Company to sponsor a touring production of the internationally acclaimed Every Brilliant Thing. This uplifting show follows the story of a young boy who starts a running list of the everyday things that make living worth living to ease his mother’s depression and finds that the list changes his own life as well.

The presentation will be held at Piedmont Virginia Community College’s V. Earl Dickinson Theater on Wednesday, February 1st at noon and is free to anyone that would like to attend. This production is fully sponsored by Sentara & Martha Jefferson Hospital Foundation – CLICK HERE TO RESERVE YOUR SEATS!

Every Brilliant Thing has won the hearts of audiences in the US and England for more than a decade and was filmed for HBO. It speaks openly about depression, mental illness and suicide, with the goal of saving lives by destigmatizing mental health and encouraging people to seek help.

This solo-performer production involves improv comedy and audience participation.  All interactions are optional and confirmed by consent.
