UVA Pipelines & Pathways invites all community members and job seekers to attend the program Grand Opening between 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm at the Jefferson School African American Heritage Center.
UVA’s President, Jim Ryan, will deliver remarks at 2:00 pm, and a ribbon cutting with the Charlottesville Chamber of Commerce will follow at 3:15 pm. Pipelines & Pathways will also announce its new training program, HOOS Driving, which provides paid training to individuals who become bus drivers for University Transit Service and Charlottesville Area Transit.
The event marks the launch of UVA’s full-scale Pipelines & Pathways program, which aims to increase the number of individuals residing in underserved communities in the Charlottesville region who are hired by the University and support them through their career at the University, so they continue to progress and succeed.
The Grand Opening offers an excellent opportunity to connect with local community leaders, get to know the UVA Pipelines & Pathways team members and the program’s service offerings for community members, enroll in the Pipelines & Pathways program, meet UVA hiring managers, learn about positions open at the University, hear from current program participants about their experience, and participate in workshops focused on improving professional presence.
