Think you are the Chili Master? Well, here’s an opportunity to prove it! For a good cause! The Minutemen MC’s Annual Chili Cookoff! Put together a theme, put together your recipe and help a young boy with mounting medical bills! Registration fee is $10 a team and begins at 7am.
Or, come out and sample some of the area’s finest chili! It’s only $5 per person (children under 12 are free) Sampling starts at 11am.
Chili Chefs Needed
Chili will be judged on the following:
1.Chili must have a unique name/theme —– 1 to 10 points awarded.
2. Taste and overall quality —– 1 to 10 points awarded.
3. A separate category for best set up will have its own prize. Judges will be looking for a sign with the name of the chili clearly visible, a theme that runs throughout and is brought forward in the chili, with a fun presentation and eye-catching appearance, and whose servers are organized and able to “sell their chili as the best.”
4. Set-up limited to 12′ by 12′ area.
5. Space limited to first 25 entries.
6. Entry fee of $10 per team.
7. Entry deadline Friday, March 24th, 2023.
All proceeds to benefit 9 yr. old Weston Herndon. Weston was diagnosed with a brain tumor at UVA Hospital and has undergone surgery to remove it. He has a long road of recovery ahead of him. All proceeds go directly to the family to help with the mounting medical expenses.
