Prepare for a day of learning, empowerment, and community building at The Children’s Tapestry, a health and literacy fair scheduled for Saturday, October 28th, from 10 am until 2 pm.

This remarkable event will take place at the Dickinson Center at Piedmont Community College, located at 501 College Drive, Charlottesville, Virginia, 22902.

**Goals of The Children’s Tapestry**
The primary objectives of The Children’s Tapestry are to build a vibrant community, provide engaging educational resources, and create a fundraising event for the Ronald McDonald House of Charlottesville that benefits children, parents and authors. The event is organized by KWE Publishing in collaboration with Morgan James Publishing with a focus on children’s health issues.

“In the pages of a book, we find the building blocks of imagination, the keys to knowledge, and the threads of connection that weave vibrant communities together,” says Kim Wells Eley, CEO of KWE Publishing and the founder of the event. “When we gather to discuss children’s health issues, and learn and engage through books, we find the true wealth of a community.”

Some of the critical topics covered include:
– Early-onset hearing loss
– Importance of early eye health checks
– Diabetes
– Autism
– Congenital heart disease
– Children born prematurely
– Heart health
– Mental health
– Disabilities

**Objectives**
The event’s objectives are as follows:
1. Empower families with valuable educational resources, including children’s books,
information about the Ronald McDonald House, and support materials.
2. Introduce the Charlottesville community to vital health topics through speaker presentations and displays, covering subjects such as autism, diabetes, food allergies, and more.
3. Familiarize parents with children’s books, written materials, and ways the community can support them.

**Event Details**
The event will be held at the Dickinson Center at Piedmont Community College, conveniently located off I-64, with ample free parking. The building is designed to be easily accessible for all, ensuring that everyone can participate fully.

**Event Highlights**
– Vendor booths featuring valuable information and resources.
– Engaging activities for children, including sensory bottles.
– Speaker presentations in the auditorium and smaller conference rooms, with designated schedules to accommodate attendees.
– Promotion and advertising of the event to students, teachers, and parents through various channels.

**Community Outreach**
As part of our ongoing commitment to the community, KWE Publishing will donate books to the Thomas George Memorial Library at the Ronald McDonald House in Charlottesville after the event, ensuring continued access to valuable resources.
