This Saturday, January 10th, head to Western Albemarle High School in Crozet for a powerful day of hoops with heart. It’s the Play For Preemies Showcase, a girls’ high school basketball event raising money for babies who need it most.
The games support the NICUs at UVA Children’s Hospital and Carilion Clinic Children’s Hospital, and this event has already donated more than $48,000 to help families across Virginia. That’s real impact, made one basket at a time.
Ten teams from around the region will be on the court, including Northside, Fluvanna County, Luray, William Monroe, Orange County, Hanover, Albemarle, and host Western Albemarle, with games tipping off at noon and running through the evening.
Coaches and fans are encouraged to wear purple in support, and there will be a photo booth, team shout-outs, and even NICU nurses on hand to share why this cause matters so much. If your family has a preemie story, this day is for you.
Tickets are $9, available only online, with proceeds going directly to the hospitals. CLICK HERE for your tickets today! Can’t make it? You can still donate. CLICK HERE TO DONATE!
And if you’re watching from home, all games will be streamed on the NFHS Network.
Basketball, community, and a whole lot of heart.
That’s the Play For Preemies Showcase, Saturday at Western Albemarle High School in Crozet.
