If you’re looking for a great way to enjoy a summer ride while making a real difference for a local family, here’s an event you’ll want to put on your calendar.
On Saturday, June 27th, the Minutemen Motorcycle Club is hosting a Poker Run to benefit Grit Fraizer, a Louisa County toddler who is courageously battling a brain tumor.
Just before his second birthday, Grit was diagnosed with a brain tumor and is currently receiving treatment at VCU Children’s Hospital. He’s already undergone surgery, with more procedures ahead, and his mom, Jenny, is facing the emotional and financial challenges that come with caring for a seriously ill child.
The Poker Run begins at the Food Lion in Gordonsville and continues with a nice ride around Lake Anna. Food Lion is located at 408 West Gordon Avenue. Registration starts at 9:30 Saturday morning, with riders rolling out at 11 a.m.
Entry is just $20 per poker hand, and every dollar raised will help Grit’s family with medical expenses and everyday costs as they focus on what matters most, his recovery.
Even if you don’t ride, you can still help by sharing the event or making a donation through the family’s GoFundMe, “Help Grit and His Family During This Tough Time.”
It’s a chance for our community to come together, support one of our own, and remind a young family that they don’t have to face this journey alone.
Ride safe, ride together, and let’s help Grit and his family one mile at a time.
