If you’re looking for a classic summertime tradition filled with family fun, great food, and community spirit, make plans to visit the Mineral Volunteer Fire Department Summer Carnival.
The carnival runs Tuesday, July 7th through Saturday, July 11th at Walton Park in Mineral, offering five nights of rides, games, entertainment, and some of the best carnival food around.
Come hungry because the Mineral Volunteer Fire Department will be serving up its famous corn dogs, crispy French fries, hearty “Gut Buster” sausage grinders, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, and barbecue sandwiches. Whether you’re stopping by for dinner or just grabbing a snack while enjoying the festivities, there’s something for everyone.
The carnival also features plenty of games of chance, exciting rides, and a chance to catch up with friends and neighbors while enjoying a summer evening in one of Central Virginia’s most beloved community traditions.
One of the highlights of the week takes place on Friday, July 10th, when the annual Mineral Firemen’s Parade steps off at 6 p.m. Hosted by Mineral Volunteer Fire Department Engine Company Number 2, the parade features fire trucks, marching bands, floats, antique tractors, classic cars, emergency vehicles, and more. Awards will be presented in several categories, and the parade route ends right at the carnival grounds, where the fun continues long into the evening.
It’s a week of hometown pride, family memories, and supporting the volunteers who help keep our community safe year-round.
