Hospice of the Piedmont’s Kids’ Grief and Healing Camp.
Grief can be especially tough on children and teens. They don’t always have the words for what they’re feeling, and they’re often expected to just keep going. This full-day camp gives young people a safe, supportive space to explore those emotions and connect with others who truly understand what they’re going through.
The camp is open to children and teens ages 5 to 17 — or up to 18 if still in high school — who have experienced the death of someone close to them. It’s open to all youth, whether or not their loved one received hospice care, and priority is given to first-time campers.
Through expressive arts, music, and fun indoor activities, campers are encouraged to share, create, and heal — while still getting to be kids. They leave with new coping tools, new connections, and the reassurance that they’re not alone.
The camp is free, but registration is required. CLICK HERE To request an application or learn more, call 434-817-6915 or email kidsgrief@hopva.org
