The League of Women Voters of the Charlottesville Area wants voters to know as much as possible about the candidates they select. “Getting the Real Deal” is the title of the League’s September Community Dialogue. It will be held on September 18th from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Jefferson-Madison Regional Central Library on Market Street.
On November 8th voters will be returning to the polls to elect representatives for state and federal government positions. In today’s politically polarized environment, however, determining how successful the candidates will be at governing could be a challenge for these voters.
What is most important to know about the candidates? How can voters move past incivility and polarization to create a better functioning democracy? This event will feature former representatives and their aides from both sides of the aisle and government levels to discuss their views.
The League invites the public to attend this free event. Masks are recommended, not required, in the library. Attendees may park at the Market Street parking garage one block away.
Founded in 1920, the League of Women Voters is a non-partisan organization that works to increase understanding of major public policy issues and influences public policy through education and advocacy. The League looks forward to continuing its mission with this event.
