Here is an event that’s a movement powered by hope, heart, and a whole lot of determination.
This morning in the Community Cubbie, we’re talking about something that’s more than just a walk… it’s a step toward something bigger for so many families right here in Central Virginia.
It’s the Breakthrough T1D Walk, a global event bringing people together to support those living with type 1 diabetes—and to drive research, advocacy, and real progress toward a cure.
And it’s happening Saturday, May 2nd at 11 AM at Walnut Creek Park in North Garden.
Now this is one of those events where every step carries a little extra meaning. Whether you’re walking for yourself, for someone you love, or just to support the cause… you’re part of something that’s moving the needle forward.
And they’ve made it a full experience, too—it’s completely free, family-friendly, and happening rain or shine. There’ll be a DJ bringing the energy, a petting zoo, face painting, food, and plenty going on to make it a great day for all ages.
It’s designed so anyone can take part—no pressure, no expectations… just show up, walk, and be part of a community that’s pushing toward a world without type 1 diabetes.
So mark it down—Saturday, May 2nd, 11 AM, Walnut Creek Park—and if you’ve been looking for a way to get involved, give back, or just spend a meaningful day outdoors… this is it.
