I never understood why people with brilliant minds and computer savvy waste their talents on developing viruses and malware which make the lives of people like me, who are computer-challenged, miserable! Now, there’s a nasty form of “ransomware” called “CryptoLocker.” If your computer gets infected with it, you can lose all your files forever. CryptoLocker will encrypt your files. making them unreadable and permanently unusable unless you decrypt them with the attacker’s private password. He’ll charge you a ransom for that password, and then may, or may not give it to you. You’re best defense – take a backup onto a USB drive!
