Hands down, Charlottesville is the healthiest town I have ever lived in and that’s a good thing. Every morning and evening I drive past many joggers and bicyclists. Just one suggestion….I think it would behoove you to wear bright clothing as opposed to black as there is a tendency not see you because of something called, hmm what is it? Oh yeah, darkness! I know wearing black makes you look thinner but not getting hit or run over and possibly dying may be a little more of a priority. For you bicyclists, please don’t abruptly come out of your assigned bike lane and make me swerve to avoid hitting you. Other than using the middle finger because you believe you own the road, appropriate hand signals would also be a good idea. In addition, not running through a red light will increase your chances of not being fitted for a warm body- bag snuggie. Like my suggestion to the joggers, please wear bright clothing so I can see you. Why am I saying these things? Yes I really do care about your safety but more importantly, I don’t want to be inconvenienced by hitting you and having my insurance go up.
Thanks for your cooperation.
