I’ve had the good fortune of living in many diverse cities. Each one had its own unique style and a few idiosyncrasies. I like that. In Charlottesville there seems to be one unsolved mystery which upsets many residents and I don’t know why it keeps occurring. Every time it rains or snows, motorists either forget or do not believe putting their headlights on would be beneficial not to mention possibly lifesaving. People call me and say things like…”would you please tell these *BLEEP, BLEEPERS* to put their headlights on!!” I get many theories but nothing absolute or concrete as to the reason this continues to happen on our roads. A caller once said that people are driving old vehicles and the lights do not automatically go on when it’s dark. I’m not sure about that theory either. When it’s dark or raining that would be the first thing I do (other than engage the windshield wipers). So… why here? Maybe this finally proves the existence of extraterrestrials. The aliens have taken up residence here in C’ville and they simply don’t understand how to drive on our planet yet. This would explain the people who work at DMV. Hey, do you have a better explanation?
