A strange thing on the Downtown Mall early Monday morning. A 22-year-old woman was driving a car on the Mall and it ended up on the grassy area near the Pavilion. City Police Lt. Ronnie Roberts says the woman was not injured but she was taken to UVA Hospital for evaluation. The wreck was discovered at around 7 a.m. Roberts says the only damage is to some sod at the Pavilion.
He says the woman had been driving on the pedestrian mall itself, but they’re not sure where the journey began.
