Virginia Public Colleges Prepare For Cuts

Public colleges and universities in Virginia are warning their faculty and staff that they can expect to feel the pinch from an $882 million state budget shortfall. The schools have been told to cut their budgets 5% in the current fiscal year and 7% during the period that begins next July. The colleges and universities must come up ways to do that by the middle of this month.
