Just who can the McDonnells talk to? That’s the subject of court arguments in the corruption case against the former governor and First Lady. Lawyers for Bob and Maureen McDonnell are trying to clarify a judge’s order. It bars the couple from speaking to any potential witnesses. The McDonnells want to talk to any witnesses who might be family members, friends or longtime business associates. Prosecutors are OK with the family members, but not the friends or past business associates. They also want to prevent the McDonnells from speaking with family members specifically about the upcoming trial. There’s been no ruling from the judge in the case.
