Wasp Damages White Oak Trees In Region

Leaves are falling off a certain type of tree in our region. A certain type of wasp is using the interior of white oaks as a breeding ground, causing the leaves to turn brown (pictured) and fall off. Some reports of damage have come in from Orange and Culpeper, but most of the activity has been in Northern Virginia. Chris Asaro of the Virginia Department of Forestry says the damage is not permanent. (Photo from Virginia Department of Forestry)
