Statewide Maximum Speed Limit On Unpaved Roads Considered

Statewide Maximum Speed Limit On Unpaved Roads Considered

Virginia might set a maximum speed limit for unpaved roads in all 95 of its counties. Lynchburg Delegate Scott Garrett wants a 35 mile per hour limit on these roads. You can hear Garrett’s remarks by hitting the button at the bottom of this article. If Garrett’s bill clears the House of Delegates (pictured) and the rest of the legislative process , Virginians who drive unpaved roads won’t need to ask their county supervisors to set a maximum speed limit. Albemarle and Nelson already have a 35 mile per hour limit on their back roads.
