Vice-Mayor Doesn’t Like Water Rate Increase

A city councilor is unhappy about higher water bills for city residents. The city staff is recommending a double-digit increase in the monthly bills for water and wastewater treatment. Vice-Mayor Dede Smith (pictured) fears an 11% increase will be tough to swallow for low-income families. Smith and her fellow councilors expect to vote on the proposal at a June meeting. She was a recent guest on the Schilling Show.
