The University of Virginia will honor a longtime employee during Founder’s Day. UVA officials will plant a tree on the west side of the Lawn in honor of the retired director of operations and maintenance. It will recognize Jay Klingel, who retired recently after 35 years with UVA Facilities Management. Founder’s Day is celebrated on April 13th, Thomas Jefferson’s birthday. Since it falls on a Sunday this year, the tree-planting will be held Friday, April 11th.
