The University of Virginia has welcomed the largest entering class in its history. President Teresa Sullivan joined nearly 3700 new Wahoos during a Sunday night event on the Lawn in the shadow of the Rotunda. Sullivan told them UVA keeps finding new tools to help improve student safety. The school has set up blue box safety phones around grounds and in neighborhoods with heavy concentrations of UVA undergrads. Sullivan has warned the first-year and transfer students that UVA is taking sexual misconduct and sexual violence very seriously. Most of the new members of the Class of 2018 will attend their first classes on Tuesday.
