UPDATE: Pilot Killed In Crash Of Small Plane In Northern Albemarle

A New Jersey man was killed Wednesday when his small plane crashed in northern Albemarle County. State Police have identified the pilot as 52-year-old Gregory A. Voit of Northfield, N.J. Emergency crews responded at 11:12 a.m. to 3009-block of Preddy Creek Road, which is off Watts Passage Road just east of 29 North and south of Burnley Station Road. The plane crashed on its belly (pictured) near the house but did not hit the structure. Voit was the plane’s only occupant. State Police along with the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
