Two Orange County residents who were arrested following the death of a young boy spent Tuesday in Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court. Billy Joe Lee and Tina Marie Toombs were arrested late Sunday night after the Orange Sheriff’s office got calls about a shooting. Deputies found Lee and Toombs along with the body of a 10-year-old boy who appears to have died after he was shot. Lee faces several felony charges and is being held without bond. Toombs is facing a felony child abuse charge, and her bond has been set at $5,000. A judge told her she must stay at least 300 feet away from the crime scene. The Orange Commonwealth’s Attorney’s office says Lee has admitted shooting the elementary school student. Lee’s court-appointed lawyer John Maus says his client told him that he didn’t intentionally kill the boy. Psychologists were at Lightfoot Elementary on Tuesday to help students deal with their classmate’s death.
