Two juveniles have been arrested in connection with an incident that caused a lot of damage at the Kohl’s department store. A boy and a girl from Albemarle, both 16 years old, were charged with arson in the Kohl’s incident, and they’re accused of several counts of shoplifting at Walmart. The Albemarle Fire Marshal’s Office says the teenagers are accused of setting a clothing rack on fire at Kohl’s, causing the sprinkler system to activate. Howard Lagomarsino of the Fire Marshal’s Office says the water damaged about one-third of the merchandise in Kohl’s with the cost reaching hundreds of thousands of dollars. That happened Sunday a couple of hours before the store closed. Lagomarsino says the arrests were possible because of the good working relationship between the County Police and the Fire Marshal’s Office.
