14 people were arrested on Sunday for swimming in an old quarry off Damon Road that’s clearly marked ‘no trespassing.’ Two swimmers were arrested for public intoxication and underage alcohol possession. Carter Johnson of the Albemarle Police says the group might have viewed this as an adventure and thought nothing could happen to them. Johnson says “Not only is this illegal, but it also could be incredibly dangerous.”  Earlier this month, a Prince William County teenager drowned in a quarry posted ‘no trespassing’ in the Fredericksburg area. Bodies were found in two Virginia waterways the same day the Albemarle swimmers were arrested. A Pulaski County man died after trying to walk across the New River near Radford.  Authorities are still investigating whether a body found in the James River near the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry is the body of a missing boater.
