State Police say ten people were killed in Virginia traffic accidents over the Labor Day weekend. The victims ranged in age from 12 to 81 years old. Last year, nine were killed during the four-day reporting period. The fatal accidents this year were in Rockingham, Rockbridge, Chesterfield, Henry, King George and Prince George counties. State Police say alcohol was a factor in at least two cases. State troopers charged 109 drivers with DUI and almost 12,000 speeding tickets were handed out.
