A divided Albemarle Board of Supervisors has agreed to let a private school expand enrollment. The supervisors voted 4-2 Wednesday night to support a request from the Regents School of Ivy. Most of the debate involved traffic safety issues on 250 West near Broomley Road. Supervisor Liz Palmer, who voted against the request, believes the zoning on that stretch of 250 is out of date. The supervisors want to review the issue again by August 2017. Former Charlottesville Mayor Alvin Edwards (pictured center) is one of the school supporters.
