Virginia’s small businesses are literally paying a high price for brutal winter weather. The Small Business Majority is a national organization that focuses on the biggest problems facing small business across the US. Founder and CEO John Arensmeyer says 87% of those surveyed in Virginia report that their bottom line has suffered as a result of the winter weather. The impact included layoffs for one in five businesses contacted in the group’s poll, which was conducted between February 7th and February 10th. There’s no word on the latest winter storm’s impact, but the system did pack a lighter punch than the storm that preceded it.
