Staunton City Councilor Ends Campaign For Congress

A Staunton city councilman has abandoned his campaign for Congress. Democrat Bruce Elder says he needs radiation treatments to treat a cancerous growth, and he’s dropped his bid for the Sixth District seat. Elder announced last year that he planned to challenge Republican incumbent Bob Goodlatte of Roanoke.
