State Parks Want You To Take A Hike

The Virginia State Parks want to start you down a healthy path for the New Year. An effort called First Day Hikes begins New Year’s Day. All 36 state parks are involved. Last year, more than 22,000 people hiked almost 44,000 miles in state parks across the U.S. Massachusetts began offering First Day Hikes in its parks more than 20 years ago, and the National Association of State Park Directors has since issued challenges to other states.
