Some Rural Roads Remain Closed By High Water

Some of our region’s back roads remain closed because of last week’s flooding. Stacy Londrey of VDOT says 19 roads across the Culpeper Highway District have not re-opened. Many of these roads have bridges that flood easily. Albemarle, Madison, and Orange have roads that will stay closed until the water goes down. That category includes Turkey Sag, White Hall, and Albevanna Spring Roads in Albemarle. There were problems Friday and Saturday on 20 South, but that problem has been fixed for now. Mechunk Creek and its tributaries (pictured) are among the places that have had flooding problems in recent days.
