Slight Drop In Charlottesville Region Unemployment Rate

The local jobless rate has seen a slight decline. It went from 4.9% in June to 4.8% in July. Ann Lang of the Virginia Employment Commission says our region continues to have a strong showing compared to the rest of the nation. The Charlottesville area had the 56th lowest unemployment rate in the nation. The statewide jobless rate remained at 5.4% in July.
