Shenandoah Valley Man Gets Vasectomy To Shorten Prison Stay

It’s not your typical plea deal. Jessie Lee Herald is in prison for child endangerment. When a judge expressed concern over the 27-year-old Shenandoah County man fathering seven children with six different women, prosecutors offered him a deal. If Herald got a vasectomy, he could shorten his prison term by five years. Herald accepted the prosecutors’ offer.
