A rash of items stolen from cars in Albemarle. County Police say at least 30 unlocked cars were broken into late Tuesday or early Wednesday in Fontana, Pavilions at Pantops and Forest Lakes North. Police say cars in Key West, Franklin, Mill Creek, Foxcroft and Lake Reynovia were hit Sunday and Monday nights. Albemarle Police are asking residents of those areas to report any suspicious activity they see or hear. They also remind car owners that anything left in plain sight, even something as seemingly minimal as loose change, turns a car into a target. Another option is leaving on an outdoor light as a deterrent.
