The three defendants in the fake ID operation that was based in a house on Rugby Road were sentenced Monday in Charlottesville federal court. Alan Jones was sentenced to five years in prison, Mark Bernardo got three years and four months, and Kelly McPhee was sentenced to two years and one month in prison. U.S. Attorney Tim Heaphy says the case could have resulted in serious consequences for public safety. Heaphy says the defendants cooperated with authorities. The house on Rugby Road was raided in May (pictured).
