Senate Hopeful Ed Gillespie Visits Albemarle

A candidate for the U.S. Senate included Albemarle County on his latest campaign swing. Republican Ed Gillespie (pictured center) wants his party’s nomination to challenge freshman Democrat Mark Warner in the fall. Gillespie believes many Virginia women are unhappy about the Affordable Care Act, which Warner supported in 2010.¬†Gillespie is from Alexandria, and¬†a past leader of statewide and national Republican committees. He has three rivals for the GOP Senate nomination, which will be determined on June 7th in Roanoke. Gillespie was the featured speaker during a monthly breakfast for Republican activists.
