Authorities are hoping new technology will help solve the decades-old murder of a state trooper. Johnny Rush Bowman (pictured) was killed 30 years ago Tuesday. Trooper Bowman answered the front door of his home in Bristoe Station near Manassas on August 19th, 1984. He was stabbed several times. Whoever killed Bowman left behind eyeglasses, a wig and a construction hard hat. The latest testing by the FBI has led to new information regarding DNA found at the scene, which has given more information to investigators. A reward is offered for information that leads to an arrest. Law enforcement agencies are asking anyone with information to contact the Virginia State Police tip line at 703-803-2637 or e-mail their information to bci-fairfax@vsp.virginia.gov.
