The town leaders of Scottsville are giving serious thought to creating a noise ordinance. The Scottsville Town Council had a lively public hearing Monday night on the possibility of a 65 decibel limit, and a series of fines for those who generate too much noise. Many of the speakers say having peace and quiet is essential in a town the size of Scottsville. Others fear a noise ordinance could stifle business growth. Nancy Gill (pictured) and her fellow town councilors will revisit the issue at a September meeting.
