Russia has banned a member of Virginia’s congressional delegation and 12 other Americans connected with the Guantanamo Bay detention camp and the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq. A spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry says Eighth District Congressman Jim Moran (D-Alexandria) is on a list of 13 people who can’t enter his country in response to the Americans’ July 2nd ban on Adam Delimkhanov, a member of the Russian Parliament. The spokesman says the 69-year-old Moran (pictured) has been repeatedly accused of financial misdeeds but he would not elaborate. Moran is retiring this year after serving twelve terms.
